The activities planned are grouped into three
stages:
 | In the first stage the WomenInNano team will
review the state of the art in Nano-Science, will identify and map the
competences of women scientists in this field at national, regional and
European level. A database of women experts will be created based on online
registration.
 | In a second stage, mass media appearances and
participation at open and public events (of ‘Open doors day’, ‘Girls
Day’-type) are planned, all these representing a campaign to make the
scientific career more attractive, especially for young women. Three
regional workshops will be organized with the aim to facilitate further
networking of female scientists at national and regional level and to spread
their contribution in Nano-Science. A summer school joined to a regional
workshop is planned to offer top-quality courses on Nano-related fields.
WomenInNano will organize satellite seminars joined to the
Nano-Science-related famous international conferences with the aim of
increasing the visibility of female scientists at these events and to
encourage their participation. A prize will be awarded to a young female
scientist working in Nano-Science with good achievements in research.
 | A third stage is dedicated to communicating
and making contact (by meetings and roundtables) with decision
making-persons at national and European level concerning the gender
dimension of scientific research. |
